Within Lend Lease, and Actus Lend Lease, we believe our responsibilities extend far beyond the homes and communities we create. Actus Lend Lease is deeply rooted in community and community development. We are there to make a difference for the families that live in our homes and the communities where we all work and live. As we examine a development project, we extend our research to include all the key stakeholders in the surrounding communities. Understanding the issues and concerns of all the stakeholders helps us create a community development plan that ensures everyone comes out a winner.
Being a good corporate neighbor means being responsible for sound business practices and environmental stewardship. We maintain a strong belief that work that can be done locally, will be done locally. We have consistently exceeded our own goals for local subcontracting opportunities. We also take our responsibilities as a mentor for small and disadvantaged businesses very seriously. In both of these areas our record speaks for itself. Actus Lend Lease is recognized as an industry leader in sustainable design and construction, and we believe our practices will be adopted as the industry standards.
As much as we focus on our community development, we also understand our responsibilities to the surrounding communities. Lend Lease's Community Day is a great example of how we not only join the community, but how we give back to it as well. Our dedicated employees give freely of their talents and time to local charities and civic causes.
