Housing development is set for Schriever Air Force Base, part of Tierra Vista Communities. |
A groundbreaking ceremony on May 16, 2008 marked the 25th anniversary of Schriever Air Force Base (AFB) and the beginning of a new era of community development for Tierra Vista Communities.
Over 200 energy-efficient, sustainable homes will make up Tierra Vista Communities at Schriever AFB. This development marks the first time ever, homes will be built on the base for the Service Men and Women of the 50th Space Wing.
Set for completion by 2013, homes are being constructed for Airmen of all ranks and will range in size from 1,630 square feet to 4,000 square feet. New homes will feature spacious two-car garages, state-of-the-art technology niches, large master bedroom with walk-in closets, and kitchens with ENERGY STARŪ appliances.
Community centers, hiking and bicycle trails, playgrounds, and even an indoor swimming pool make up just a few of the new amenities Airmen and their Families will enjoy.
To help address the needs of the growing community at Schriever AFB, Actus Lend Lease also spent a total of $2.08 million towards the construction of a ten-classroom addition to the local elementary school, Ellicott Elementary.
The first new homes for Tierra Vista Communities at Schriever AFB are set to be online summer 2009.
