On March 27, Atlantic Marine Corps Communities (AMCC) and MCB Camp Lejeune held a celebration signifying the Construction Midpoint for the Tarawa Terrace II neighborhood. |
This milestone event occurred as AMCC begins the fourth of six phases of demolition and construction in the largest community at Camp Lejeune.
The Midpoint Celebration was held at the new AMCC Tarawa Terrace Community Center site and included remarks from Colonel R.P. Flatau, Commanding Officer of MCB Camp Lejeune; Jim Harris, Marine Corps PPV Division Director for NAVFAC Atlantic; and Jeffrey Simon, President of Actus Lend Lease. After the ceremony, participants toured several homes in the community.
“Actus Lend Lease is truly excited to deliver the new homes and the newly built Community Center at Tarawa Terrace to our deserving Service Members,” stated Tim Hackett, Senior Construction Manager.
The new three-bedroom homes at Tarawa Terrace are available for Military Service Families ranking from E1 to E5 and range in size from 1,618 to 1,639 square feet.
Since the Lejeune Ground breaking Ceremony held in December 2005 at Tarawa Terrace II, Actus Lend Lease has successfully demolished more than 300 old homes from the 1950’s and built more than 160 modern AMCC homes. More than 200 homes are currently in production at Tarawa Terrace II, as Actus Lend Lease moves toward the final end state of 778 new homes for our Residents.
